9.1.11 | Donate Your Used Cell Phones for Soldiers
In partnership with Invest in America and loveyourcreditunion.org, we are collecting used cell phones to help soldiers call home for free.
How does it work?
Proceeds from donated cell phones are used to purchase calling cards for our troops.
What phones can be donated?
Any cellular telephone, from your old flip-phone to an iPhone can be donated.
Can I donate broken phones?
Yes. If the phone has minor damage such as scratches, scrapes, or just a cracked screen, your donation will still be helpful.
Cell phone recycling instructions:
1. Deactivate phone(s) and turn off power.
2. Keep battery attached to phone.
3. If battery is not attached to phone, place tape over terminal ends.
4. Bring your cell phone to any branch.
5. Ask for a Cell Phones for Soldiers envelope, seal, and drop in designated box.
6.1.11| Park Community Gets Recognized for Going Green
We at Park Community don’t just throw paper away, we recycle. In fact, we recycled so much last year that Cintas® has awarded Park with an environmental award for 2010. Why? Because of our efforts:
- 476 Trees were saved
- 56 Barrels of oil were saved
- 196,000 Gallons of water were saved
- 84 Cubic yards of landfill were spared
We like it green here at Park, and this award proves that fact. We look forward to doing all we can to reduce the amount of waste we leave. You can do the same by signing up for eStatements! |
