About the Saving Families Program:
Credit unions were founded on the philosophy of people helping people, and that is the purpose of the Saving Families Challenge. We’re helping hard working families learn how to manage their money, pay off debt, and set goals for the future.
Each season, we pair four families with their very own personal financial coach who analyzes their current financial situation, helps them create a budget, and helps them set financial goals. At the end of the season, the family that has the biggest financial transformation will receive $5,000!
Through blog entries and the help of FOX41 News in Louisville, KY, we’ve completed 2 seasons of Saving Families, and are gearing up for season 3. The four families from Season 2 paid off nearly $50K in debt, increased their net worth by nearly $80K, paid off numerous bills, and increased their credit scores a total of 210 points.
You don’t have to be a Saving Families contestant to be a winner. Challenge yourself to reevaluate your current financial situation, set goals, and interact with our four families via their blogs and Facebook. Make comments. Ask questions. Together we can learn, grow, and succeed. Also look for updates on Fox 41 in Louisville, KY.
